Unlike the British-built SLR at the time, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was created in Germany and was the first vehicle developed independently by AMG and, as a coupé version, the second Mercedes-Benz to appear with gullwing doors – like the 300 SL at the time. The V8 sports car presented at the IAA in 2009 was assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. The roadster variant of the SLS AMG was officially presented a little later at the IAA 2011 and was available from the end of 2011. The windscreen frame, centre tunnel and sills of the roadster with the three-layer soft top were reinforced compared to the coupé. The SLS AMG Roadster rolled off the production line until 2014.

A Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster from 2012 can now be purchased at auction. This SLS with the FIN WDDRK7HA1CA008474 offered here, independently developed by AMG, is a re-import from the USA, the first owner drove with the SLS in Florida, the 2nd owner was a USA exporter and the 3rd owner called this Mercedes-Benz his own in Germany, later a 4th and last owner in Germany was added. Since 2019, the vehicle has been deregistered and owned by the company, according to the seller's statements. In addition to various documents on the SLS AMG, there is also a CarFax as well as a checkbook and 2 car keys. The seller mentions that the TÜV is still done before the handover to the new owner. Matching numbers are given, and an expert opinion is also available for the vehicle.

A long bonnet and a crisp, short rear characterise the flat silhouette of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. The paint color is called "Iridium Silver Metallic" and is in its original condition except for a bumper repainted in 2022 – i.e. first paint. Except for a small dent on the left center at the rear, according to the seller, there are no deficits on the exterior of the roadster – all decorative elements also impress with their clean condition. The fabric top of this roadster is kept in red: cracks or even abrasion marks in the fabric are not to be complained about. As an external special feature, according to the current owner, a homologation was carried out at Mercedes-Benz for 9,000 €. The current owner completely excludes an accident.

At the front, the roadster is equipped with 9.5 J x 19 wheels with 265/35 ZR 19 tires, at the rear on 11.0 J x 20 rims with 295/30 ZR 20 rubbers. Curb scratches cannot be removed from the original Mercedes alloy wheels, the tires date from 2014 and, according to the seller, are preserved in almost unused condition. The condition of the brakes is excellent, no defects can be discovered in terms of chassis technology.

Red full leather sports seats are present in the interior of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster: except for the surface of the dashboard, parts of the door panels and the 3-spoke leather/alcantaral wheel, the entire interior of this roadster is largely in red. The seller attests to the car's only slight condition of use inside, damage or even missing parts are not noticeable. After deciphering the optional equipment codes, the following features are available on board this SLS Roadster: Garage Door Opener, Blind Spot Assist, Memory Package (Driver's Seat, Steering Column, Mirror), AMG Performance Steering Wheel, Airscarf System, Leather Exclusive, Automatic Climate Control, Bi-Xenon Headlights, Navigation System and Radio with CD Player. All equipment elements can be attested to a flawless function.

A look at the puristic speedometer unit reveals a mileage of 35,150. This mileage can be proven via a CarFax as well as the partially guided checkbook. Defects in the displays in the driver's cockpit cannot be identified.

The M 159 E 63 V8 engine offers plenty of power, which generates a whopping 571 hp from a displacement of 6.2 litres and has a torque of 650 Newton metres. An AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed sports transmission engages the individual gears at lightning speed and the power of the naturally aspirated V8 engine is thus brought to the road via the rear wheels. In 2019, the last service work took place – the seller notes that before the handover to the future owner of this SLS AMG will be subjected to a fresh service.

In terms of underbody technology, there are no inconsistencies to be discovered due to the low mileage of this SLS AMG Roadster. While an SLS AMG Coupé is already a rare super sports car per se, the SLS AMG Roadster turns out to be the more exclusive version, as research has resulted in considerably fewer units of the roadster. This SLS AMG Roadster offered here impresses with its homologation carried out at Mercedes-Benz as well as the low overall mileage and the exclusive colour combination.
