Model history

As a direct competitor to the Nissan Skyline GT-R, Toyota Supra and Mazda RX-7, Mitsubishi launched the 3000GT in 1991. Compared to the other sports cars of the era, the 3000GT may not have been the fastest or most maneuverable, but it offered a convincing blend of excellent long-distance touring capabilities and great stability and grip at high speeds. The 3000GT, also known as the GTO, was offered in the markets with various engines and features. By 1999, only about 15,500 of them had been produced.
