In this auction, a Mercedes-Benz of the W 124 model series can be auctioned off as a model variant 260 E from the year of construction 1989. The saloon of the upper middle class with the FIN WDB1240261A872550 was registered for the first time on 20.01.1989 at the Mercedes branch in Heidelberg, in April 1989 a businessman bought the 260 E. He kept the W 124 until December 2015, after which he deregistered the car. A complete history including a complete checkbook is available. According to the seller, there is still 1 set of keys for the Mercedes-Benz, an H-approval already ennobles the car. Before the handover, the TÜV of this 260 E. Worth mentioning are the – according to the information of the seller – given matching numbers and the conversion to Euro 2.

Externally, this 260 E still has the thin plastic strips, only in September 1989 Mercedes-Benz gave the W 124 wide plastic planks. There are only a few repaints on the saloon delivered in "Arctic white" – according to the current vehicle owner, this 260 E still has its first coat for the most part: Due to this, a few minimal signs of age-related use can be seen from the exterior after more than 30 years. However, damage or modifications to the exterior are apparently not to be noted. All add-on parts on the car are available and the plastic elements present themselves in good condition. The seller excludes an accident.

Continental tyres in the size 195/65 are mounted with sufficient tread on 15-inch Mercedes-Benz alloy rims in used condition. Brake discs and pads have been added at the front and rear. There are no deficits on the chassis.

The interior of the W 124 appears Swabian-factual, robust and solid: black fabric seats with striped patterns provide a contrast to the silver exterior. Damage to the interior of this 260 E is apparently non-existent, and all components inside the Mercedes-Benz are in good condition. On board this sedan are among other things the following equipment features: sunroof electric with lifting device, head restraints in the rear, exterior mirrors heated, armrest foldable front, heat-insulating glass all around incl. heated rear window, rear speaker and a Becker Europa cassette radio. All equipment elements as well as all instruments in the interior must be certified to function flawlessly.

149,390 kilometers can be read from the speedometer in the instrument cluster: Due to the continuously guided checkbook and the various existing former TÜV reports, the total mileage of this 260 E can be proven beyond doubt.

Cleanly preserved, the engine compartment presents itself – In it is a 2.6-liter in-line six-cylinder, which transmits 160 hp via a 4-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. The seller mentions that recently a great service took place in which, among other things, the gasoline pump, the gasoline filter, the brake fluid and the air filter were renewed. Furthermore, new ignition cables, spark plugs, distributor fingers and a new V-belt were used and the transmission oil including the associated filter was also replaced.

The underbody of this W 124 is preserved with wax. This 260 E is for all those who are looking for a solid, timeless and unagitated classic to enter the world of classic cars.
