The Anadol A2, introduced in 1970, was the first model developed in Turkey with a body made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic, which made it particularly light and rust-resistant. The design was based on a sketch by British designer Tom Karen and featured clean lines with a compact shape that was ideal for the narrow roads and climate of Turkey. The car used a robust Ford engine that was easy to maintain and reliable. With around 35,000 vehicles sold between 1970 and 1981, this model was the best-selling Anadol vehicle of all time
