Model history:

BMW's Neue Klasse was the bestseller in the sales range at the end of the 60s, and so nothing was more obvious than to present a sporty, elegant offshoot. From 1965, the production of the coupé bodies started at Karmann in Osnabrück: The 2000 C and in the sports version of the CS were the spearheads in the battle for market share. Both model variants had a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine under the hood, from which BMW elicited up to 120 hp in the CS thanks to two flat-flow twin carburetors. Until mid-1970, the coupé finally remained in the BMW model range, a total of around 13,700 New Class coupés were built.

General information about the vehicle:

The BMW to be purchased in this auction is a 2000 CS from first registration in 1967, which bears the chassis number 1105110 and, according to the seller, originally came from Germany, then found its way to the USA in 1980 and was finally imported from the USA to Denmark over the years. According to the seller, the mileage of this BMW, which will not be fully restored until 2023, can be approximately traced via a partially available history (various receipts, invoices, inspection certificates and other documents). A complete photo documentation of the restoration work is available. It is not known how many owners the coupe has in total. According to the seller, the matching numbers are given and 1 set of keys is still available for the 2000 CS. At the moment, the BMW has a Colorado registration certificate.

Exterior paint/paint/body:

In the course of the restoration measures that were used on this BMW, the white body was also painted. An accident-free effect is confirmed by the seller. Modifications to the exterior deviating from the original condition are not recognizable and all chrome trim elements are apparently in perfect condition. There are no inconsistencies or even gross damage to the body - in addition, the restoration, which was only completed in 2023, was not long ago. Accordingly, the BMW Coupé presents itself cleanly preserved.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

Tires of the Continental brand are mounted on original BMW multi-spoke alloy wheels. Both the tires and the brakes are certified by the seller to be in good condition. In terms of chassis technology, this 2000 CS impresses with its obviously original condition without any inconsistencies.

Interior:

Blue fabric seats and colour-matching door panels with wood inlays can be found in the interior of the 1967 BMW Coupé. Further wooden trim can be found in the dashboard, the two-spoke steering wheel and on the manual gear knob. In terms of equipment, the car has power windows, heating, sunroof, tachometer, clock and indicators for fuel level and coolant temperature. There is also a contemporary radio on board the BMW. Mileage:

At the moment, there are 380 kilometers on the five-digit speedometer of this BMW 2000 CS: this mileage is the one that was covered with this vehicle after the completion of the restoration work in 2023. In addition to various documents, the seller states that there is also a complete photo documentation.

Engine:

It is powered by an original 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine (engine type M10) with 2 Solex twin carburetors, which provides an output of 100 hp and is coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission. A final service took place in 2023.

Subsoil:

The restoration work is also clearly visible on the underside of the BMW: it is in very good condition without any major inconsistencies. Karmann in Osnabrück produced the coupé bodies of the so-called "New Class" from BMW - Wilhelm Hofmeister was responsible for the design. The BMW 2000 CS from the first registration in 1967, which is available in this auction, can now be enjoyed in its entirety: Due to the fact that the restoration work was only recently completed, the New Class Coupé presents itself in a correspondingly good overall condition.
