Model history

The DB9 marked the beginning of a new era for Aston Martin in 2004: it was the first model to be produced not at the traditional factory in Newport Pagnell, but at the newly built factory in Gaydon. Unlike its predecessor, the DB7, which still had many similarities with the Jaguar XK8, the DB9 was a completely new development. With its aluminum monocoque, it set new standards in lightweight construction. Under the direction of Ian Callum and finalized by Henrik Fisker, a sports car was created that combined classic Aston Martin elements with modern technology – all meticulously handcrafted.
