In the spring of 1985, the Pininfarina-designed and newly revised body of the Ferrari 400i was presented. The name of the car refers to the volume of a cylinder. For the first time in the company's history, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) was offered. In 1989, the 412 was replaced by the more powerful 456.
