At the time, it was the fastest BMW ever offered on the market in 1998. We are talking about the BMW Z3 Coupé, in which BMW Motorsport GmbH had its fingers in the game: the BMW Z3 M Coupé. The Z3 Coupé owes its unusual shooting brake shape – half coupé, half station wagon – to the then BMW chief designer Chris Bangle. The long bonnet, paired with a compact rear and wide wheel arches, was rather atypical for a sports car of this format at the presentation of the M automobile – which guaranteed the coupé an unmistakable charisma. Between 1998 and 2002, a total of just under 6,300 units of the BMW Z3 M Coupé rolled off the production line.

The BMW of the Z3 series offered in this auction is a Z3 M Coupé from the year 1999, which was registered for the first time in Germany in March of the same year. According to the seller, this sports car with the FIN WBSCM91010LB56529 had over the years only 2 owners in possession, of which the last owner was a BMW fan, who had used the car as a seasonal vehicle. The history of the Z3 M Coupé can be traced back from the available documents – which also include a guided checkbook. In addition to 1 vehicle key, there is a general inspection, which is valid until March 2023. Matching numbers are assumed.

In bright blue – the exact BMW colour designation is called "Estoril Blue" – the paint dress of this Z3 M Coupé is kept. Except for a repainting of the bonnet, which has been carried out due to stone chips, the current owner indicates that the car is otherwise in its first paint. In view of this, the paint is in a good state of preservation for the age of the BMW – as an external defect, the seller indicates a dent in the rear left fender. Front and rear bumpers are preserved in undamaged condition, this Z3 did not have an accident in the current holding period.

On 7.5Jx17 rims in 5-spoke design are mounted tires of the brand Hankook, which come from the production year 2017 and have a profile depth of about 6mm. The condition of the brakes can be classified as good by the seller, in the area of the chassis no modifications deviating from the original condition are to be listed.

Black full leather can be taken from the interior of the Z3 M Coupé: Apart from a slightly stressed driver's seat cheek, the sports seats of the BMW have no signs of wear and tear – the interior of the sports car is also in a very well-maintained condition. On board the Z3, plenty of features can be found: sliding roof in glass roof design, power steering, electric windows, electric seat adjustment, seat heating, cruise control, ABS, air conditioning, rear window heating, Harman/Kardon sound system and a BMW Business cassette radio. All equipment options as well as all instruments in the interior of this Z3 M Coupé work perfectly.

In the instrument cluster, the special feature of this coupé is once again pointed out by the "M" logo and the designation "coupe" on the dial of the rev counter. A mileage of 99,420 kilometres can be seen on the display: This mileage can be proven on the one hand by a partially guided BMW checkbook, on the other hand by various documents such as invoices and former TÜV reports.

The heart of this sports car is, of course, its 3.2-liter in-line six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, which generates 321 hp.
