Vehicle description
Model history:
In 1973, the Kawasaki Z1-900, a groundbreaking motorcycle, came onto the market. Often referred to as Kawasaki's flagship model, it is still considered one of the milestones in motorcycle history. The Z1-900 was produced from 1972 to 1976, during which time around 50,000 units were manufactured.
What made the Z1-900 so special was its all-new engine. The four-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 903 cm3 and an output of 79 hp was far ahead of its time.
Thedesign was also revolutionary: the Z1-900 was sleek and aggressively styled, setting new standards in motorcycle aesthetics.
General information about the vehicle:
In the following auction, you now have the chance to bid for a part of motorcycle history. The Kawasaki Z1-900 offered here with the vehicle identification number Z1F-17924 dates back to 1973. The motorcycle has had a total of only two owners, with the current owner having it in his possession since 1995. It is an import from the USA with matching numbers. In 2022 the motorcycle was completely rebuilt. In addition, the Z1 still has MOT until April 2025 and is ready to ride, but not registered. In the current possession the motorcycle was driven accident-free.
Exterior color/paint/bodywork:
The exterior of the Kawasaki Z1-900 is a real eye-catcher and makes the heart of every motorcycle lover beat faster. The machine was completely repainted in the original 1973 design (yellow/green) by Heinz Löblein in the course of the rebuild. In combination with the chrome elements and especially the 4-in-4 exhaust system, the Kawasaki is absolutely convincing. In addition to the paint job, the frame and swingarm were powder coated and the tank was sealed on the inside. The motorcycle is due to the restoration in excellent condition. External defects can therefore be excluded with high probability.
Exterior Rims / Brakes / Chassis:
Not only visually, this Kawasaki is a real highlight, but also equipped in terms of chassis and brakes at the highest level. The bike is equipped with original multi-spoke rims, which are not only sturdy, but also particularly aesthetic. Mounted on these rims are new Heidenau tires that provide a safe and reliable grip on the road. The braking system has been renewed and now features new hydraulically actuated disc brakes on the front telescopic fork and a new drum brake on the rear swingarm.
Interior:
The sports tourer has a beautiful black leather seat to match its appearance. The pleasant upholstery means that even longer rides are no problem. In addition to the comfortable seat, the bike has a kickstart and an electric starter. As the pictures prove, the leather seat is also in an absolutely well-maintained condition.
Mileage:
According to the owner, the sport tourer has only been driven 10 km since it was rebuilt. This figure has been read off and cannot be verified as there is no checkbook. The functions of the instruments are certified fully functional.
Engine:
The sport tourer is powered by an impressive air-cooled four-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 903 cm3 and an output of 79 hp. The engine is equipped with 4 Mikuni carburetors. The 5-speed chain transmission provides precise and powerful transmission of power. The 4-in-4 exhaust provides the appropriate sporty sound. Furthermore, the engine was professionally overhauled at a Kawasaki workshop in Solingen. So there are no known defects or damages.
Underbody:
Like the rest, the underside of the bike can be certified in excellent shape
.
The underbody presents itself in an unwelded and rust-free condition. The attached series of pictures confirms the well-kept condition of the motorcycle.
