In 1992, Porsche took up the idea of the successful Speedster from 1987 and presented a new Speedster generation based on the 964 model. But unlike the first series, the 911 Carrera Speedster from 1992 was only offered in the narrow version. This was based on the body dimensions of the 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet. Only at the express request of the customer, Porsche exclusively produced a handful of wide versions in turbo look. The windshield of the Speedster could no longer be dismantled, which was due to safety requirements, production costs and everyday use in equal measure. Nevertheless, the windscreen was of course lower than in the Cabriolet, which created the special Speedster appearance both open and closed.

One of just over 900 Porsche 911 Type 964 Speedsters produced is now being offered for auction in this auction. This specimen with the FIN WP0ZZZ96ZRS455335 is a German first delivery from the year of construction 1993, over the years 7 owners called the Porsche their own. Matching numbers are given, a history can be traced on the basis of various documents – which also includes a checkbook. The most recent general inspection will run until September 2022, and it is also worth mentioning an expert report prepared by Classic Data from April 2022, in which the Speedster is certified as having an overall condition rating of 2+ and a replacement value of € 190,000. A new TÜV is made together with a service before the handover.

Visually, the Porsche Speedster in black uni (color code L741) convinces with its completely healthy and very well preserved condition. A complete repainting in the original colour has already taken place, the car has no accident damage, the gap dimensions are uniform and colour differences in the paint image are not recognizable. The crack-free fabric soft top can be operated manually and, when opened, can be provided with a distinctive cover in body colour with humps for the rear row of seats. All attachments are preserved in perfect condition.

Hankook tyres in the dimensions of 205/50 ZR17 on the front axle and 255/40 ZR17 on the rear axle are mounted on 5-spoke alloy wheels. Due to the fact that the tires come from the production year 2009, they should be renewed in the near future. According to the seller, the brakes still have 70-90% of their new condition. In the area of the chassis, apparently, no deficits can be named – this is in its original condition.

In the interior of the Speedster there are black full leather sports seats, striking are the dashboard painted in red and the other elements in red set off in the interior. Except for minimal traces of use, no deficits can be found inside this Porsche 911 Carrera Speedster, which could cloud the extremely good overall impression. Airbags have been dispensed with in the Speedster, as features on board this 964 is the following: central locking, electric windows, power steering, air conditioning, cruise control and a Blaupunkt cassette radio. The mechanism of the soft top works perfectly – it can be unlocked, opened and also closed and locked perfectly.

The typical Porsche 5 round instruments also remain in the Speedster in the red dashboard: The speedometer shows a mileage of 91,810 kilometers. A partially maintained checkbook as well as various former invoices and receipts ensure that the mileage of this Speedster can be proven. All instruments and controls in the interior can be attributed a flawless condition.

The 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine in the rear of the Speedster delivers 250 hp, while a manual 5-speed manual transmission provides plenty of driving pleasure. A service would still be done by the current owner. According to the seller, there are no defects in the technology.
