Introduction
The Jaguar XK 150, which was offered from 1957 onwards, was the last version of this British sports car to be launched on the market after the Jaguar XK 120 and XK 140 models. The extensively revised car offered, among other things, a one-piece panoramic windscreen and the body had grown in all directions and now also had a continuous bumper at the rear. The engine was still an inline six with a 3.4-liter displacement, but a 3.8-liter inline six was also available as production progressed. Until the end of production in 1961, a total of just under 9,400 examples of the XK 150 were built - this model was finally replaced by the Jaguar E-Type.
General information about the vehicle
The 1958 Jaguar offered for auction here is an XK 150 FHC (Fixed Head Coupé), which originated in the USA with chassis number S834818BW and was imported to Germany 30 years ago. Whether the so-called "matching numbers" are available, is not known to the seller - however, only 2 owners are said to have called this XK 150 their own over the years. An accident in the current holding period is excluded by the seller. In addition to a valid MOT - which runs until May 2025 - this already restored Fixed Head Coupé also already has an H license plate. At the moment, the Jaguar is still registered.
Features
- Exterior and interior: "Imperial Maroon" is the exact color designation of the paint color after consultation with the seller. In the course of the restoration work, a renewal of the paint took place. In the interior there is a beige leather interior - in addition, the dashboard also presents itself largely in beige color.
- Engine and transmission: In the front of this Jaguar is a 3.4-liter inline six-cylinder engine, which delivers 210 hp via an automatic transmission to the rear wheels. According to the seller, the last service was performed in March 2023.
- Mileage: The XK 150's five-digit speedometer reads approximately 48,000 miles, according to the current owner of this fixed-head coupe - this would roughly equate to 77,250 kilometers. According to the seller, the total mileage can no longer be verified.
- Documentation: German registration papers are available for this Jaguar XK 150 FHC.
Condition
- Only recently the complete brake system was renewed - therefore the current owner certifies the brakes to be in extremely good condition. The tires are said to be in 70-90% of their new condition.
- Some paint damage can be seen on the paintwork.
- According to the current owner, welding work has been done on the underside of this Jaguar before, but according to him there are no major inconsistencies on the underbody.
- To get a better idea of the condition of this XK 150, we recommend to have a look at the pictures and videos of the Jaguar.
Highlights
- A special feature of this XK 150, which dates back to 1958, is above all the noble and extremely charming color combination of the exterior and interior. In addition to the leather interior, there is also a slotted three-spoke wooden steering wheel on board the vehicle.
Summary
- Jaguar became a legend in the early 1950s with its various XK models: XK 120 to XK 150 always set the standard in the sports car competition of the time. The sporty genes are also noticeable in this XK 150 from 1958 offered here for auction - but rather it represents a great reliable coupe, which is waiting in perfectly matched color combination for its next owner - and especially for the next ride.
