Kickdown's Take
by Moritz HelbichYou don’t see a 996 like this every day! A manual-transmission Targa is rare enough on its own, but the X51 factory performance upgrade—which was extremely expensive at the time—makes this 996 an absolute collector’s item. With its classic color scheme, German first registration, and just 103,000 kilometers on the odometer, this car has it all. A very interesting investment for all Porsche enthusiasts.
A 2004 Porsche 996 X51 Targa is for sale in Seal Gray Metallic with black leather interior.

Model history
With the 996 series, Porsche introduced a new generation of the 911 at the end of the 1990s. It replaced the 993 and was the first model in the series with a water-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine, which enabled it to meet stricter emissions and fuel consumption regulations while also delivering higher engine performance. At the same time, the 911 was given a completely redesigned body with increased dimensions and improved comfort. In addition to the coupé and convertible, a Targa variant was also offered again, featuring a large glass roof that combines a particularly open driving experience with the everyday practicality of a coupé.
