Model history:

Actually, the 911 was already doomed to death at the end of the seventies – the technically somewhat anachronistic sports car legend seemed to have reached the end of its life cycle. Porsche's future was to lie in vehicles like the 928. However, when the decision to discontinue production of the 911 became known to the public, there was a worldwide outcry among the owners and friends of the nine-eleven: In Stuttgart, the call was heard and the nine-eleven did not die. As history would show, it was the right strategy, because the 911 SC brought the sports car manufacturer through the coming economically difficult years.

In this auction you now have the opportunity to purchase a Porsche 911 SC Targa from 1981, which carries the VIN WP0EA0911BS160961 and is an import from the USA. After the sports car came from Zuffenhausen to Germany, it was completely restored here, according to the seller. From the present history, 3 owners are known and a partially kept checkbook for the traceability of the history is available. Until January 2025, the recently completed TÜV is still valid.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

The exterior colour of the SC Targa is bright red - in the course of the restoration work, which took place in Germany, the paint dress of the 911 was also completely new. The seller can completely rule out an accident. All plastic attachments on the vehicle are apparently in clean and complete condition, even the targa roof is perfectly preserved in condition. Interior:

In keeping with the red exterior colour of the 911 SC Targa, the interior of the sports car is entirely black - thus emphasising the sportiness once again. In addition to the 3-spoke leather steering wheel and the full leather seats, the Porsche is equipped with power windows, power steering, central locking, air conditioning, ABS and a contemporary Blaupunkt radio. Rough traces of use or even missing parts in the interior of the car are apparently not recognizable, all electric helpers work and all displays and controls as well. The targa roof can be easily removed and reinserted.

Mileage

A mileage of 127,070 can be read off on the 6-digit mileage - this mileage can be approximately traced after consultation with the seller on the basis of a partially kept checkbook.

Engine

From 3.0-liter displacement, the air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine generates 180 hp, via a 5-speed manual transmission, the power of the 6 cylinders is delivered to the rear wheels. This Porsche has only recently (in January 2023) undergone a final service.

Subsoil:

As can be seen from the pictures of the underbody of the 911, it is in a very neat condition in view of the age of the vehicle.
