Model history
Introduced in 1971, the SL R 107 series shaped Mercedes design in the 1970s with its distinctive H4 headlights and large taillights. Technically, it offered safety thanks to a reinforced A-pillar and, from 1982, airbags. Particularly popular in the USA, it was mostly equipped with V8 engines. It proved its robustness in rally competitions, such as the 1979 Safari Rally. With a production period of 18 years, the R 107 is one of the brand's most durable models and was replaced by the R 129 in 1989.

Questions and Comments
LG Tom
