The Opel Manta B was designed in response to the increasing popularity of sports coupés in the 1970s. Opel aimed to offer an affordable yet sporty vehicle that could compete with rivals such as the Ford Capri and the VW Scirocco. Its debut in 1975 marked an immediate sales success, and during its production period from 1975 to 1988, the Manta B underwent several updates with new engines and equipment features.
