Model history

Mercedes-Benz launched its first factory-built station wagon in 1978 with the T-model of the 123 series. The internal designation was S123 – the "T" stood for tourism and transport. Technically largely identical to the sedan, the station wagon offered more cargo space, reinforced brakes on the rear axle, and numerous interior configuration options. The T-model combined comfort, everyday practicality, and durability – and quickly became the benchmark in the upper mid-range class. By 1986, over 199,000 units of this popular classic had been produced.

I.M.A. in Daimler-Benz-Lizenz gefertigten Kombis blieben Exoten. LG Tom
