Modern design, a wide range of engines and attractive body versions made the entry-level BMW interesting for many customers. From 1982, the new three-series was initially only produced as a two-door model, followed by the four-door version in 1983. Production of all body variants of the E30 only ended in 1994, with a total of over 2.34 million units being built.
