    Technik: Optisch änderte sich einiges. Die Chevelle erschien größer. Front und Heck wurden stark überarbeitet. Die Scheinwerfer saßen in einem lackierten Frontblech und nicht mehr im Kühlergrill. Dieser erhielt eine andere V-Form mit einer in Wagenfarbe lackierten Mittelstrebe. Die Blinkleuchten waren in der Stoßstange verbaut. Die Form der kleinen hinteren Fenster wurde von dreieckig in eher viereckig geändert. Die verchromte Heckstoßstange wurde wuchtiger. In ihr saßen jetzt auch die rechteckigen Rückleuchten. Das 1970er Modelljahr war deutlich von den vorangegangenen Jahren zu unterscheiden. Zur Serienausstattung der Chevelle gehörten neben den üblichen Sicherheitsausstattungen wie Gurte auch Kleinigkeiten wie ein abschließbares Handschuhfach und Gummifußmatten, die Kopfstützen der Vordersitze waren ebenfalls Standard. Der Malibu erhielt zusätzlich die „Astro Ventilation“. Diese führt Frischluft in im Armaturenbrett eingebaute und einstellbare Lüftungsdüsen. Aus der Aufpreisliste waren u. a. auch elektrische Fensterheber und eine elektrische Sitzverstellung bestellbar. Als neue Extras waren u. a. eine Zentralverriegelung und ein Tipp-Scheibenwischerbetrieb – heute in jedem Fahrzeug Standard – verfügbar. LG Tom
