In 1983, the sports car manufacturer Porsche presented a further development of its 911 model series at the IAA, which again bore the euphonious name Carrera and, unlike its last namesake, which drew its power from a 3.0-liter displacement, the new 911 Carrera had a 3.2-liter displacement. In the last model year (1989) of the G-model era, Porsche also launched a limited edition "25th anniversary 911" model of the 911 Carrera in addition to the Speedster models. The model years from 1987 onwards featured the popular G50 gearbox, which was easier to shift, and were therefore particularly sought-after.
