Model history:

In 1953, VW installed curved glass in the rear window of the Beetle and dispensed with the center bar. From then on, the end of the early years is clearly visible, the rear window is no longer divided and the "Pretzel Beetle" becomes the "Ovali". A number of improvements had already been made in previous years. For example, the transmission was synchronized from second gear and the rims now had a diameter of 15 inches. In addition, there were a number of useful little things that the Beetle did not have when it was first presented, such as indicator levers on the steering column, door contact switches for the interior light or a windshield wiper with automatic reset. Also enginewise something changed: Starting from 1954 a 1,2-Liter engine with 30 HP achievement was inserted, which provided nevertheless for 5 HP increase in relation to the predecessor.

General to the vehicle:

A VW beetle coming from the year of manufacture 1957 can be auctioned now in this auction. This so-called "Ovali" with the chassis number 11461869 is an import from Sweden, which according to the previous owner comes from a family (with three owners). The so-called matching numbers are assumed. A partially kept checkbook as well as various documents can be presented for the purpose of traceability of the history, also the mileage of the Beetle should be approximately provable according to the seller. At the moment this Ovali still has Swedish vehicle documents, it does not have a valid TÜV at the moment.

Exterior color/paint/body:

In 1993 a complete repainting of the body of this VW Beetle took place - the paint values of the light blue color are according to consultation with the seller mostly about 150 micrometers, only the roof as well as the left door show higher paint values according to the current owner. All trim parts on the exterior are said to be in good shape and the seller can rule out an accident in the current holding period. Exterior Rims/Brakes/Suspension:

Interior:

The current owner of the VW Beetle states the condition of the interior as entirely original and in good condition. Of course, in the course of the years of the now over 65-year-old Ovali traces of patina have found their way into the interior, but serious damage or even missing parts can apparently not be discovered. Mileage:

A single round instrument set in chrome is in the direct field of vision of the driver: on the 5-digit speedometer a mileage of 38,160 kilometers can be read there. According to the previous owner, this Ovali has a total mileage of 138,160 kilometers. In addition to a partially kept checkbook, the vehicle also comes with the original logbook as well as the original keys.

Engine:

30 HP sends the four-cylinder boxer engine via a 4-speed manual transmission over the rear wheels on the road. Last maintenance was performed in December 2022, according to the seller.

Underbody:

Machined areas are present on the underbody, according to the seller - in some areas the VW has already been welded and superficial rust is visible. Considering the vehicle's age of over 65 years, however, a basically solid substance can apparently be taken from the underside. The Beetle is a vehicle for purists, with nothing on it that drivers don't really need.
