Model history
The Alfa Romeo Montreal owes its design to Marcello Gandini, who created a body based on Giulia technology for the 1967 World Expo in Montreal, Canada. This included a front engine and ventilation slots in the B-pillar, which served as styling elements. Similar vents also adorned the hood of the exhibition vehicle, which formed the basis for the Montreal presented years later, which finally appeared at the Geneva Motor Show in 1970 and went into series production a year later. A 2.6-litre V8 engine derived from the Tipo 33 Stradale racing engine was installed under the front hood. Only just under 4,000 Alfa Romeo Montreals were produced, many of which were later restored or modified. This makes this original car, which is still largely in its original condition, all the more remarkable.

Comments of this past auction
