The SL models from Mercedes-Benz refer to a class of sporty roadsters and coupés. The abbreviation SL stands for "Super-Leicht", but is also often translated as "Sport-Leicht" in the vernacular. The first SL model was the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing from 1954. To this day, the SL-Class is an integral part of the model range at Mercedes-Benz. The 129 series is the fifth generation of the SL models and was produced from 1989 to 2001 exclusively as the R129 Roadster. It follows the 107 model series and was produced in over 200,000 units plus 927 AMG models. The development of the 129 series began in the 70s, but was postponed for a few years in favor of the W 201 and W 124 series, which explains the unusually long production period of the 107 series. The R129 was offered with 6-cylinder, 8-cylinder and 12-cylinder engines. During the production period of the R129, the classes were introduced at Mercedes in 1993, since then all SL models officially belong to the SL-Class.

This beautiful youngtimer is a Mercedes-Benz SL 320 from 1996 (EZ 10/1996). The SL with the VIN WDB1290631F144028 originally comes from Japan, so this model is an import vehicle. The car is in second hand, a checkbook is not available and the history is not comprehensible. According to the current owner, the SL is accident-free and has matching numbers. Since the vehicle has not yet reached the 30 years, there is still no classic car certificate available, so there is no H-approval yet. The car has fresh TÜV and is offered with a key.

The SL bears the colour Ruby Red Metallic 5720 and has been partially repainted. The standard hardtop is also painted in body colour, while the black folding roof with brightly contrasted seams creates a harmonious contrast to the exterior paintwork. The bumpers and electrically retractable exterior mirrors are painted in body colour. Discreet use of chrome in the radiator grille, window frame and trim at the rear set visual accents. The SL has white turn signals at the front as standard and has a third brake light, which is integrated into the boot lid. A headlight cleaning system ensures clear visibility at all times. The vehicle has small signs of age-related use, major defects or modifications to this car are not known.

The SL stands on the original five-hole alloy wheels. According to the owner, these have traces of corrosion and should be refurbished if necessary. The tyres with the dimensions 245/45 ZR17 are new, the condition of the brakes is good.

The interior of the vehicle is dominated by black leather and dark grey carpet and thus visually matches the black folding roof. The seats are in full leather, have heated seats and a seat memory. The simple steering wheel is black, as is the gear stick and dashboard. A dark grey carpet lines the floor and the trunk. The carpet cover also covers the sides of the centre console and the lower part of the dashboard. The centre console is designed with lush dark real wood applications. These can also be found as decorative elements in the door panels and create some visual variety in the door, which is otherwise clad in black leather. The SL is a non-smoking vehicle, the interior is well maintained, but shows age-related signs of use. The SL 320 comes standard with power steering, ABS, central locking and power windows. The SL 320 has a 3.2-litre 6-cylinder engine with 170 kW (231 hp). The 5-speed automatic transmission transfers the power to the rear axle. Technical defects are not known to the owner. The car has received a fresh service.

The underbody of the SL is rust-free. In addition, numerous repairs were carried out. The soft top was revised by a saddler and the window was renewed. All hydraulic cylinders of the soft top were overhauled and the associated control unit replaced. In addition, new window regulator motors were installed. Seat belts, including electronics, work perfectly, according to the seller. Only the trunk trim on the right is missing.
