Model history
The BMW 635 CSI belongs to the first generation of the 6 Series and was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1976. Initially, the coupé was based on the platform of the first 5 Series, but from 1982 onwards, the more modern floor pan of the E28 was used. With its striking design, powerful inline six-cylinder engine and high-quality interior, the E24 established itself as a style-defining luxury coupé. Production ran until 1989, when it was succeeded by the BMW 8 Series.

Technik: BMW 635csi war für mich der edelste und formschönste Bayer! Otti Fischer hat in in der Fernsehserie richtig berühmt gemacht nur hatte er immer den Beifahrersitz ausgebaut. Als Nachfolger des Vorgängers E9 ist der E24 länger und breiter. Die während der Entwicklung durchgeführten Crashtests führten zu einer zwar schwereren, aber auch deutlich steiferen und sichereren Karosseriestruktur. Zusätzliches Gewicht brachte die komfortorientiertere Ausstattung. Die neu hinzugekommene B-Säule wurde mit schwarzem Kunststoff verkleidet, um sie optisch zurücktreten zu lassen und somit den Eindruck einer wie beim Vorgänger seitlich durchgehenden Fensterfläche herzustellen. Aufgrund der B-Säule konnten die hinteren Seitenscheiben jedoch nur noch ca. 20 cm versenkt werden.
