The BMW 635 CSI belongs to the first generation of the 6 Series and was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1976. Initially, the coupé was based on the platform of the first 5 Series, but from 1982 the more modern floor assembly of the E28 was used. With its striking design, powerful six-cylinder in-line engine and high-quality interior, the E24 established itself as a style-defining luxury-class coupé. Production continued until 1989, after which the BMW 8 Series followed.
