Even before the production of the VW-Porsche had ended, the Swabians received the development order for an independent VW sports car. But things turned out differently and Volkswagen stopped the project, instead Porsche developed the car independently until it was ready for series production. The new one was called the 924 and with it the Porsche company broke new ground, because for the first time a Porsche had a front engine. To compensate for the unfavorable weight distribution, the 2+2-seater with the large tailgate received a manual transmission in transaxle arrangement – i.e. a shift box on the rear axle. In the end, the 924 remained in the range from 1976 to 1985, laying the foundation for the transaxle model era at Porsche.

The Porsche to be purchased in this auction is a 924 from the year of construction 1976, i.e. a very early example. In May 1976, the first registration of this transaxle athlete with the chassis number 9246103406 took place, according to the seller, the Porsche is a re-import from Italy. A partially available history confirms the history of this 924, in total the car has 2 holders. 2 vehicle keys still exist, an H-approval is not yet available, but the last completed TÜV is valid until June 2024.
