Model history:

The Mustang is already born a legend: tens of thousands of Americans want to own this car in response to a large-scale advertising campaign. Produced from 1964, the one millionth Mustang rolls off the production line just 2 years later. With its perfect proportions - long hood, short tail - the Mustang exudes despite its simple technology a completely special charm, which corresponds to the automobile dreams of a whole nation and which today hardly someone can escape. The Mustang I of the 1.generation was available optionally with a six-cylinder in-line engine or with V8 engines, with which there were 4.3-liter in the early models and later 4.7-liter displacement was available.

General information about the vehicle:

A from first registration 1966 Ford Mustang GT, which has the chassis number 6F07C322180 and was imported from the U.S., can now be purchased in this auction. In Austria, the Mustang has undergone a complete restoration including a full paint job. Whether the so-called matching numbers are given, the seller can not say exactly. A checkbook is no longer available, but the total mileage can be partially understood according to the statements of the current owner. Currently, this Mustang has an Austrian historic registration and a valid inspection certificate that runs until April 2024.

Exterior paint/paint/body:

As part of the restoration work, as mentioned at the outset, a complete repainting of the body took place in the original manufacturer's color called "Ivy Green" - this color represents a dark green. A modernization took place in the area of the front: LED headlights show up mounted here. However, the original headlights are present and are included. Other optical modifications deviating from the original condition cannot be recognized and all chrome trim elements and add-on parts on the Ford Mustang are in complete as well as very good condition. Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

In chrome shining five-spoke rims have together with tires of the brand Sunny - to which the seller attributes a constitution of 70-90% - a significant share in the visually extremely successful overall appearance of this Mustang. At the front axle new disk brakes - at the rear axle new drum brakes were used. At the chassis apparently no deficits can be taken.

Interior:

Black presents itself the interior of this Ford Mustang from first registration 1966 held: Only the three-spoke wooden steering wheel stands out in color. On the whole, the interior can be attested an extremely well-kept and clean state of preservation. In addition to the black leatherette seats, the Mustang is equipped with power steering (the seller mentions here that the power steering has no play - just like in a new car). All equipment as well as operating elements can be attributed a fully functioning condition and gross damage or even missing parts can not be taken from the interior.

Running performance:

A large round instrument set in chrome sits - flanked by two small round instruments each on the left and right - centrally in the driver's field of vision.The five-digit speedometer reads 45,660 miles, which would translate to about 73,480 kilometers. According to the seller, the total mileage is approximately traceable and all instruments work flawlessly.

Engine:

The V8 engine also underwent an overhaul - and was given more power in the process. According to the seller, this Ford Mustang has 200 horsepower and is mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission (has also been overhauled) that delivers power to the rear axle. According to the seller, a stainless steel exhaust system can still be purchased for an additional €1,100, which is still in its original packaging. In April 2022 last service work on the Mustang took place.

Underbody:

The underbody is the best place to see the effects of the extensive restoration work: here, apparently, no inconsistencies can be detected that could detract from the all-around extremely good condition of this '66 Mustang. Hardly any other coupe conveys such a feeling of the American Life- as well as Drivestyle of the 1960s like a Ford Mustang. This coupe GT also offers the classic body shape and in the color "Ivy Green" a cool look - in combination with a condition restored from scratch, which makes this Mustang visually as well as technically quite good.
