Model history:

In the early summer of 1972, Ford presented a completely new model series that replaced the mature 17M/20M/26M sedans. The new Consul/Granada series embodied the old Ford credo: the tin dress created by Uwe Bahnsen indulged in lush curves and stately dimensions. As usual, you could choose from a variety of equipment variants and there was also no shortage of engines, from the 1.7-liter V4 to the 3.0-liter Essex V6 various options were available. Compared to the Consul, the Granada offered a better equipment, in 1975 the two models were merged and continued under the name Granada.

Now a Ford Granada Coupé can be bought in this auction, which dates from 1977, bears the chassis number GAGCSG80401 and was registered for the first time in Germany. A checkbook for Granada is no longer available – according to the seller, however, the total mileage of the car can be traced and the so-called matching numbers are assumed. The vehicle is already in possession of an H-approval, the last completed TÜV is valid until September 2022. A total of 3 owners are known to the vehicle.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

Brown is the exterior colour of this elegant Granada Coupé. Various chrome trim elements on the exterior form a contrast to the brown paint colour. After consultation with the seller, he states that he does not know whether the car has already been repainted – but the body is in a well-kept condition and deviations from the original condition of this unrestored Granada are not to be found. An accident-free is confirmed by the seller – furthermore, he states that the appearance of this Ford has an age-appropriate patina without damage.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

In addition to Kumho tyres in size 195/70, original silver alloy rims are mounted on the vehicle. The current owner attests to the tire as well as the brake system a condition between 70-90%, inconsistencies in the area of the chassis can not be detected.

Interior:

The typical zeitgeist of the 1970s is the interior of this Granada, which is largely covered with dark velour fabric – here an age-appropriate patina can be removed without major damage. Wood veneers in the interior provide a certain noblesse. Installed are a 2-spoke Ghia original steering wheel and a retro radio with all modern functions (although according to the current owner, the antenna is damaged). In addition to the sunroof and central locking, the vehicle also has power windows and rear vent windows as equipment options. Mileage:

The instrumentation in the instrument cluster of the Granada is clearly structured and clearly readable: a mileage of 83,916 km can be read on the 5-digit speedometer. The seller states that the total mileage of the coupe is approximately comprehensible.

Engine:

From a displacement of 3.0 litres, the V6 engine in the front of the Granada generates 137 hp – power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission. According to information from the current owner, the last service work took place in 2022.

Subsoil:

Only slight flash rust is to be criticized on the underbody of this Ford. In view of the vehicle's age of now over 45 years, the seller attributes a very good substance to the underside. This Ford Granada offered here is a cult coupe with a baroque look – this is underlined by the color combination. In combination with the 3-speed automatic transmission and the 3.0-liter V6 engine, the Granada becomes the optimal fair-weather cruiser. It should also be noted that this car was always parked in an air-conditioned hall during the holding period of the current owner when not in use.
