Model history

The renowned German car manufacturer Porsche presented the Porsche 911 Type 997 in 2004. The range included an impressive range of model variants, including coupes, Targa, convertibles and Speedsters, with rear- and all-wheel drive, slimmer and wider bodies, and water-cooled naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines. With the design of the 997, Porsche gave the 911 an even more dynamic and powerful appearance. The 997's signature steeper, round, clear-glass headlights were a distinctive stylistic element reminiscent of the traditional air-cooled 911 models. By 2012, almost 213,000 of them had been produced.
