Model history

The Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet from the 964 series, introduced in 1989, marked a significant step in the evolution of the 911. As the successor to the G series, it featured numerous technical innovations, including standard power steering, ABS, and a modern coil spring suspension that replaced the traditional torsion bars. The Carrera 2 was the rear-wheel-drive version with an air-cooled 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine delivering 250 hp. Combined with the convertible body, it offered pure open-top driving pleasure, enhanced by a fully automatic soft top. Today, the 964 Carrera 2 Cabrio is a sought-after classic that offers the perfect balance of traditional 911 charm and technical modernity.

LG Tom
