Technik: Der XK8 wurde im März 1996 auf dem Genfer Auto-Salon vorgestellt. Der Sportwagen wurde in den zwei Karosserieformen Coupé und Cabrio sowie wahlweise mit einem Saugmotor (als XK8) oder einem Kompressor-Motor (als XKR) angeboten. Letzteren kennzeichnen eine Heckspoilerlippe, Entlüftungsschlitze in der Motorhaube, ein Kühlergrill in Gitteroptik sowie größere Räder. Die Karosserien wurden in der Fabrik Castle Bromwich bei Birmingham gebaut und lackiert, für die Endfertigung kamen sie danach an die Browns Lane im Vorort Allesley von Coventry. LG Tom
