In this auction is bid on a historic Vespa GS 160 from 1964. The vehicle is the sporty variant of the Vespa 160 and has largely been preserved in its original condition. The scooter was first put into operation in June of the year of manufacture, but it is unknown how many owners the Vespa had in the past six decades. There are some documents about repairs and services made as well as the original manual of the accident-free scooter. The vehicle with the VIN VSB1T0055008 was driven most of the time in Sweden, from where the Vespa GS 160 was exported to Germany. The two-wheeled jewel is ready to drive, but not registered and would have to undergo a tüv inspection before commissioning. The Vespa has matching numbers and an expert opinion on the use of H license plates, as well as the two original keys to the vehicle are handed over to the future owner. It should be emphasized that this Vespa is in the original paint, which is an absolute highlight for real collectors and connoisseurs.

The sleek Vespa has a historic exterior. The original paint finish has been preserved in white and shows the typical patina created over decades. There are no dents or dents, traces of use and signs of corrosion are minimal. Only minor modifications were made to the body, including the integration of Ulma footrests and luggage racks.

Original Vespa scooter rims are mounted on the vehicle, which are given a dynamic look by the hubcaps from Ulma. The wheels and brakes are in good condition, no changes have been made to the driving characteristics of the Vespa. The last service in March 2022 also confirmed that there are no defects in the entire area.

The Vespa has a comfortable bench seat, whose black plastic cover with white stripes harmonizes perfectly with the paintwork. On the steering wheel, the original handles are installed in plain grey, the speedometer is the only display on the vehicle. There is no damage in the cockpit and seating area, only minor signs of use on the front, the steering column and the fenders influence the overall visual impression.

The Offered Vespa 160 GS has apparently only covered short distances in recent decades. On the speedometer, whose functionality has been checked, a mileage of 9,660 kilometers can be read. Due to the generally good condition and the low paint damage, this display seems quite plausible.

The Vespa 160 GS uses a two-stroke engine for locomotion, which generates an output of 8.9 hp with a displacement of 160cc. The power transmission is controlled by manual transmission via a 4-speed transmission, so that the sporty scooter reaches a top speed of 100km/h in the highest gear. The last workshop service took place in spring 2022, and no defects in the engine, technology or substructure of the vehicle could be detected.

Repairs to the vehicle have not been necessary recently, due to the very good general condition, no spare parts should be necessary in the near future. Many papers and documents are still available, which makes the Vespa even more attractive for collectors than it already is due to its original condition. Of course, the new owner should be aware that he is acquiring a collector's item that has remained almost unchanged in almost 60 years. Wear and tear is currently not noticeable, but cannot be ruled out in the long term with this historic Vespa. However, a connoisseur of the brand will know what handling of the iconic scooter is necessary and will continue to keep it in this good and above all original condition.
