Model history

The BMW Z3 was introduced in 1995 as a two-seater roadster and was the first BMW model to be produced in the USA. Three years later, BMW added a coupé version to the series, which still enjoys cult status today thanks to its striking design. In 1999, the Z3 underwent a model update with revised details and an expanded engine range. These ranged from compact four-cylinder engines to powerful six-cylinder variants, including the M Roadster and M Coupé with up to 325 hp.
