Model history
The Beetle reaches its final stage of development in the 1303 model - apart from a clamping strip for the hood seal, not a single screw or sheet metal corresponds to the first Beetle. In the course of its history, the Cabriolet was always adapted to the development of the saloon: All changes to the technology and bodywork are also found in the Cabriolet, and the most powerful engine is regularly used. On January 10, 1980, an era finally came to an end with the last Beetle 1303 LS Cabriolet to roll off the production line: after a total of 331,847 Cabriolets and 31 years of production, the open-top version of the Beetle came to an end.
