cedes-Benz W116 was intro duced in 1972 as the suc ces sor to the W108/W109 and set new stan dards in terms of lux ury and safety. It was avail able in sev eral engine vari ants, includ ing six-cylin der and eight-cylin der engines with dis place ments rang ing from 2.8 to 6.9 liters. The 450 SEL 6.9, equipped with a 6.9-liter V8, was the top model and impressed with its per for mance. The W116 was a suc cess and laid the foun da tion for the later S-Class tra di tion of Mer cedes-Benz.

Offenbar besitzt das Fahrzeug eine Scheinwerfer-Reinigungsanlage. Auf den Bildern ist aber nur der Wischer auf der Beifahrerseite sichtbar. Fehlt der auf der Fahrerseite? Warum? Funktioniert die Anlage?
