Technik: Der 991 ist der erste Porsche in Aluminium-Stahl-Mischbauweise. Durch die neue Rohkarosserie konnten rund 80 Kilogramm gegenüber der Rohkarosserie des Vorgängermodells 997 eingespart werden. Insgesamt wurde der Porsche 991 um rund 40 Kilogramm leichter. Die Karosserien der vorangegangenen Modelle waren mit jedem Generationswechsel wegen der steigenden Sicherheits- und Komfortansprüche schwerer geworden. Der Rohbau des 993 Carrera von 1993 hatte 215 kg gewogen, beim 997 von 2003 waren es 280 kg. Der 991 sollte trotz des 100 mm längeren Radstands und anderer Verbesserungen, die eine um 51 kg höhere Masse bewirkten, leichter werden als sein Vorgänger. LG Tom
