Model history:

As the successor to the Healey 100, the British Motor Corporation launched the so-called Austin-Healey 3000 in 1959, which provided significantly more comfort with its full folding top instead of an emergency hood or with its side windows that could be lowered by hand crank. On request, the English roadster could even be ordered as a 2+2 seater. There were a total of three model series of the Austin-Healey 3000. With the Mk3 introduced in 1964, the engine output of the 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder increased to 150 hp and the instrument panel and chassis were revised, among other things. In 1967 BMC stopped the production of the Austin-Healey 3000.

The Austin-Healey offered for sale in this auction is a Mk3 from 1966, which has the chassis number HBJBL39600 and was imported from the USA. Altogether 4 owners called this already restored Austin-Healey over the years in Germany their own, whether the Matching Numbers are given, the salesman cannot say with security - he assumes however from it. The mileage of the Austin-Healey and also the history of the car can be approximated after consultation with the seller. In possession of an H-registration the roadster is already and the last completed main inspection has a validity until December 2024. The Austin has a complete restoration history with photos. An entire folder of documents is available to the owner, which will of course be given to the new owner.

Exterior Color/Paint/Body:

The body of this Austin-Healey Mk3 is resplendent in red: as part of the restoration work, all of the roadster's paint came new. According to the current owner, the full convertible top is in mint condition, as is the existing single cover. All chrome elements on the vehicle show apparently a good gloss degree, missing parts are not to be taken from the Mk3 and also modifications deviating from the original condition do not seem to have been made at the vehicle.

Black leather seats and wood applications in the dashboard adorn the interior of the Austin-Healey Mk3. The window panes are operated by a hand crank and features include a contemporary radio in the center console. The top of the Austin-Healey can be easily opened and also properly locked again. Worth mentioning is an optional accessory for classic car rallies, which according to the seller consists of a meter counter, stopwatches and cutting knife.

According to the seller, the Austin-Healey has run 14,822 kilometers - a partial history to the car is available. The mileage refers to the distance driven by the owner. An exact mileage cannot be titled exactly. Except for a non-rotating speedometer roller for the total kilometers, all instruments and gauges in the interior of the roadster function impeccably.

Engine

Under the front hood of this Austin-Healey Mk3 is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder, which produces 150 horsepower. Through a 4-speed transmission (with additional overdrive), power is sent to the road via the rear wheels. The exhaust system looks out the side of the underbody of the vehicle on the driver's side. Everything is registered and properly installed for this purpose. The original, rear-exiting system is also present. Last service work took place in April 2022.
