Kickdown's Take
by Juri PilawaThe 1976 model year marks the debut of the hot-dip galvanized body and is thus one of the most sought-after model years for the G-series. This 911 S in Indian Red with a black leather interior is an authentic, well-driven 911 featuring a narrow body, original chrome trim, and the characteristic pop-out windows. Technically, the car is in remarkably good condition: The 2.7-liter flat-six engine was completely overhauled in 2012 by a Porsche specialist shop, followed in May 2026 by a major service performed according to Porsche specifications, including new fuel lines. The brake system, heat exchanger, and suspension components have also been replaced in recent years—totaling approximately 32,000 euros, fully documented by invoices. The engine runs very smoothly, and the Type 915 transmission shifts cleanly. The body and interior visibly bear their patina, but that is precisely what makes it so appealing: a regularly maintained early 911 S that wants to be driven rather than sit in the garage.
