In this auction, a Ford Capri II GL is offered, which rolled off the production line in Cologne in 1976. The vehicle was first registered for road traffic in the summer of the same year and has been preserved in its basic substance to this day. A complete, complete checkbook and numerous other documents provide information about the history of this dream car, which has enjoyed the care of three different owners over the past 45 years. The well-preserved coupé is registered and fully ready to drive, due to its age and authenticity, it is also certified as a historic vehicle and entitled to drive H license plates. The car has remained accident-free in all these years and will be handed over to the future owner with a new TÜV badge and two sets of keys.

The vehicle is painted in the original color Spanish red, which has slightly lost intensity over the years. In some places, the color of the Ford Capri has been renewed, so that it shines overall in an age-appropriate pleasant look. No modifications were made to the exterior, but a special feature is the original vinyl roof, which gives the vehicle its special character. The historic vehicle conveys a very well-kept, authentic overall impression and has no dents or dents as well as minimal paint damage.

The vehicle runs on original Capri rims, which, together with the chrome-plated bumpers, are responsible for a remarkable look. Nexus N-Blue tyres have been fitted to the front and rear axles, which are in good condition, as are the brakes. The entire chassis area has been inspected in recent years, partially restored and existing defects eliminated.

The interior of the Ford Capri II GL presents itself predominantly in an elegant black. The footwell is lined with carpet, for the seating set and the interior door trim a suitable combination of fabric and artificial leather was chosen. The entire interior is in a very well-kept condition, only on the seats slight signs of use can be seen. The cockpit and the centre console are kept in classic black and polished to a high gloss, the dashboard area is further enhanced by an elegant wood look. In addition to the classic displays and controls, the equipment includes a radio and a clock, electric windows and central locking are not available.

The vehicle has covered a total distance of 84,000 kilometres in recent decades. This value can be read on the speedometer, in addition, the complete documentation confirms the correctness of this information. All instruments in the vehicle are fully functional, as well as all displays are intact and can be read without restrictions.

The Ford Capri II GL is powered by a four-cylinder gasoline engine and is equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission. With a displacement of 1.6 litres, the engine generates an output of 72 hp, with which the historic station wagon coupé reaches a top speed of 156km/h. The last service on the vehicle was carried out in 2019, and no defects could be found in the engine, transmission and all other technology. The subfloor is also in very good condition, has no damage and shows minimal signs of corrosion.

The great quality of the vehicle is due to years of good care and targeted restoration in all relevant areas. Wear parts have been consistently replaced in the past, so that no repairs are currently pending. The offered Ford Capri II GL is a true classic of its generation. The striking elongated bonnet is reminiscent of the Ford Mustang, on the basis of which the car, originally conceived as a pure sports coupé, was partly created. In the second generation, Ford expanded the vehicle to a station wagon coupé, which meant more space in the interior and more storage volume. However, the sporty appearance remained unchanged, so that the Capri II still fascinates with its dynamics. Its design is a real homage to the 1970s and the historic car is therefore the ideal and now very rare retro vehicle for relaxed walks and excursions.
