Model history

The BMW 635 CSi is a sporty luxury-class coupé produced by Bayerische Motorenwerke between 1978 and 1989. It is based on the E24 model series, which was introduced in 1976 and served as the successor to the BMW E9. The 635 CSi was more powerful than its sister models and looked particularly dynamic with front and rear spoilers. The original version was able to compete with the Porsche 928 and Mercedes 450 SL; the M635 CSi, which was available from 1984, was even more powerful. With its lowered chassis, lowered front spoilers and many extras, it looked particularly agile. With a top speed of 255 km/h, the M635 CSi was the fastest German production saloon of its time.
