The vehicle to be auctioned in this auction is a Mercedes-Benz W111 220 SEb Coupé from 1965, which was first registered in Germany in March of the same year and then exported to the USA and then reimported back to Germany. In total, there are 3 verifiable vehicle owners. For the history of this coupé with the chassis number 11102112077388, the original cardboard letter is available in copy and the original on-board folder with service booklet – in addition, all keys to the W111 still exist. The last main inspection did not expire until June 2022, and this 220 SEb is already in possession of an H approval. The so-called matching numbers are assumed due to the rich documentation of this coupé. Also worth mentioning is an existing report on the W111.

The W111 Coupé, repainted in the extremely beguiling paint colour green, shows no serious external defects or colour differences except for minor visible paint blemishes. There are no dents or missing parts on the body, the condition of the chrome parts is very good. The windscreen, side windows or the huge panoramic rear window also have no scratches. At the neuralgic zones of a W111, in which the rust can form, this 220 SEb Coupé is apparently rust-free, according to the owner there are no corrosion sources, and the Mercedes-Benz in the current possession has run accident-free. The gap dimensions make a decent impression.

According to the owner, new tires are mounted on the original steel rims with chrome hubcaps in body color. The brakes can be attested to a good condition and the chassis is with its independent suspension on double wishbones at the front and single-joint pendulum axle at the rear in original and modification-free condition.

Filigree decorative elements and sumptuous wood and leather inserts fill the interior. Matching the green exterior color, the brown full leather seats harmonize. In the interior of this 220 SEb Coupé, only minor damage to the wood, the carpet and the full leather seats can be complained of – otherwise the interior of this W111 is in a neat condition. The equipment in this coupé includes the black 2-spoke steering wheel with chrome horn ring, the sunroof, the power steering and a Blaupunkt accessory cassette radio. All displays, instruments and controls in the interior of the 220 SEb can be certified as functioning flawlessly.

The round instruments in the interior show a mileage of 68,200: The total mileage of this Mercedes-Benz can be approximately proven on the basis of a guided checkbook, various cancelled invoices and former test reports. Furthermore, the original cardboard letter is still available in copy of the history of the coupé and the on-board folder is completely preserved.

Powered by a 120 hp in-line six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 2.2 litres, engine type M 127, the W111 Coupé ensures dignified performance, with a 4-speed automatic transmission taking over the gearshift. The drive unit performs its service without background noise and has no defects. According to the seller, a service was only recently completed.

As in order, the current holder refers to the condition of the subfloor. A Mercedes-Benz Coupé of the W111 model series is perhaps the most beautiful star carrier of the post-war period. It stands for new self-confidence and all Mercedes virtues. In addition, the so-called SE Coupés were the last Largely handmade Mercedes. With the rich history of this 220 SEb Coupé and the extremely noble colour combination, this Mercedes-Benz not only makes the hearts of enthusiasts beat faster.
