Vehicle description

Porsche is one of the most famous sports car manufacturers in the world. The company had already been involved in the development of the VW Beetle in the 1930s, but the breakthrough came with the development of the Porsche 911, which set new standards from 1963 onwards. The "Neunelfer" designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche is a successor to the Porsche 356, which has been produced since 1948, but is clearly superior to its predecessor in terms of comfort, driving characteristics and performance. The new, characteristic shape became a model for many other models, so that the 911 is now considered the epitome of the Porsche brand.

In this auction, a beautiful blue Porsche 911 Targa from 1974 is for sale. The sports car is a so-called G-model with a narrow body and was exported to the United States after its manufacture. It was first registered there in July 1974, but returned to Germany as part of a re-import. The exact number of previous owners is unclear due to the stay abroad, especially since checkbook and documents on history are largely missing. What is certain is that the vehicle with the identification number 9114112458 was last owned by a collector, has matching numbers and is equipped with H license plates. The Porsche 911 Targa has remained accident-free in its current possession and has a current TÜV badge, so that the historic sports car can be driven, registered and handed over to the new owner with a set of keys.

...

The offered Porsche 911 presents itself in a friendly Gemini blue and has a removable dark Targa roof. On the sides and around the bumpers are the black trim strips matching the G model, which earned the vehicle the nickname "Bellows Porsche" and give a consistent overall impression. The body has recently been extensively restored and shines with new paint in the original shine. Dents, dents or corrosion could not be detected on this timelessly beautiful sports car, but there are smaller scratches on the front and rear.

...

Original Fuchs rims are mounted on the Porsche 911 Targa, which, with their 5-spoke retro look, harmonize perfectly with the exterior of this historic sports car. The mounted tires from Continental are in very good condition, as are the renewed brakes fully functional. The chassis of the historic vehicle was rebuilt in the original as part of the revision and equipped with adjustable rear axle swords. In addition, wearing parts were replaced, so that no defects in this area could be found in the service just carried out.

...

The interior of the Porsche 911 was completely renewed in the course of the restoration and shines in elegant dark shades. Comfortable black imitation leather armchairs were installed and the side surfaces lined with the same material, in the footwell a robust, dark grey carpet was laid. The cockpit shines in mint condition with fittings polished to a high gloss, on which, as on the entire interior, only slight signs of wear can be observed. The sports car also impresses with numerous equipment elements that meet all wishes, from the flexible folding roof to the Blaupunkt radio.

...

The vehicle has covered a little more than 38,000 kilometers in its history, as can be seen from the speedometer display. Otherwise, there are no documents or proofs that explicitly confirm this value, but the functionality of all instruments and operating elements could be determined during the last service.

...

The vehicle has a six-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 2.7 liters, which produces 150 hp (110 KW), while a manual 5-speed transmission is responsible for power transmission. The blue sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 210 km/h with an average fuel consumption of 14.0 litres. The last inspection was only a few weeks ago, and no defects in the engine, transmission or other technical components could be detected. The subfloor was blasted with dry ice and preserved with special wax, so that this area is also in very good condition.

...

As part of the partial restoration of the vehicle, about 40,000 euros were invested and numerous repairs were carried out. The body was rebuilt and the chassis, brakes and steering were revised, as well as the injection system was overhauled and all seals and rubbers replaced. A stainless steel heat diver was integrated and the exhaust system and the tank were completely replaced, in addition, the fittings could be restored to a new condition and a new windscreen with seal and frame could be installed. As a result, the vehicle presents itself in a great general condition and should be able to do without workshop visits in the near future.

The offered Porsche 911 2.7 Targa is a real gem and just the right car for lovers of the G model produced from 1974 onwards. It was one of the first vehicles of this series to roll off the production line in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen and has a high collector's value due to the original technology used. The blue color also makes this dynamic sports car something very special, so that the future owner can look forward to a real rarity.
