Vehicle description
Introduced in 1974, the G model was the first major redesign of the 911 and was originally offered in three versions: the 2.7 911, 2.7 911S and 2.7 Carrera. The F model was produced for eight years before the G model was introduced, and its most distinctive feature was a bumper with bellows. By this time, the look was already quite familiar. It complemented the refined lines of its predecessor with a chrome radiator grille at the rear alongside large indicators on rounded fenders, lots of plastic at the front and the Porsche name in large letters on the reflective strip at the rear of the car. Whether this series would become a true classic was hotly debated at the time.
This Porsche 911 from 1975 has been extensively rebuilt and is now for sale. The car was painted in the original color Cockney Brown (408). This model came to Germany from California in 2007. It is a narrow G model (chrome model). During the restoration, many parts of both the interior and exterior were renewed or replaced true to the original. The engine and many other technical components were also overhauled or replaced. The Porsche has currently run approx. 60,000 km since the overhaul and has a 2.7-liter bored-out six-cylinder boxer engine, which was delivered for the first time with light-alloy cylinders with Nikasil-coated liners. The 911S produced 175 hp, which was transmitted via a 5-speed gearbox. The vehicle has been serviced every year and, according to the vendor, runs perfectly. A current valuation report is available. The 63,000 euros are stated in the appraisal. The owner states that the car was in 1st hand with a New York owner, then went to California and he is now probably the 3rd owner. The car has an MOT, but it needs to be renewed soon and is currently not registered.
The Porsche was painted in the color Cockney brown (408). This color was mainly found on G models and Porsche prototypes. The paintwork is in very good condition and has only one small defect, which can be seen in the photo history.
15-inch Fuchs rims are mounted on a Kleber dynaxer hp3 195/65 r15. They come in a typical chrome-black combination. Brakes were also redone during the restoration and are still in good condition. This 11 stands very well and lets the new one in to drive right off.
The interior is finished in a brown leather combination. The dashboard as well as the seats and carpets are a lighter shade of brown. Overall, the interior is in good condition and has no major defects. Further pictures can be found in the photo documentation.
An original Porsche steering wheel sits in front of the five gauges, with the rev counter in the center. However, a sportier steering wheel is currently fitted, but the original is of course included. The speedometer still shows the original mileage. As the engine has been renewed, the engine mileage is only approx. 60,000 km. All parts are original and have been retained after the restoration so as not to alter the condition. The speedometer has since been converted to a German speedometer and is in fantastic condition. According to the owner, the total mileage is probably 170,000 km and approx. 60,000 km since the overhaul.
The exhaust system has also been renewed, as can be seen in the picture. Otherwise, the underbody has no weaknesses or rust and is in good condition. The paintwork was carried out professionally and restores the Porsche to its original shine.
The boxer engine of the 911 has 2.7 l, 6 cylinders and produces 175 hp. The engine and gearbox have been completely overhauled and renewed. This can also be seen in the photo history. The engine has been running flawlessly ever since and causes no problems. Whether idling or at full load, the engine runs very well in all areas. The engine overhaul was carried out in the USA. The engine block was completely renewed, as were the gearbox and the clutch at Porsche Albert. The exhaust system was also renewed.
Other things that have been renewed over time include new shock absorbers, new rubber, a new ignition coil and new brakes all round. Extensive documentation with numerous invoices and certificates is available in an A4 folder, so that the car is very well documented overall.
Further on in the photo documentation you will find some photos from before and during the restoration. The Porsche is now looking very nice, is in a dry hall and is waiting for a new owner.
