The engineer Horst Keinath, son of an Opel dealer in Dettingen, produced several one-off models from 1993 to 2003 as well as Opel-based sports cars: One of them was the Keinath GT/R, based on the basic shape of the Opel GT from the 1970s. This GT/R was equipped with a fully retractable plastic roof and under the body, also made of fiberglass, was an Opel V6 engine and an Opel chassis. The registered top speed of this model was 240 km/h. According to research, only 21 copies of the Keinath GT/R were built between 1997 and 2000.
