Model history
The Porsche 928 was developed in the 1970s as a completely new concept within the Porsche model range. Unlike the Porsche 911, Porsche opted here for a water-cooled front-mounted V8 engine and a transaxle design, in which the transmission is located at the rear axle, to achieve balanced weight distribution. Other distinctive features include the round pop-up headlights, the wide body shape, and the so-called “Weissach axle,” which was designed to stabilize handling during load changes. With its combination of sporty performance, comfort, and innovative technology, the 928 evolved into a Gran Turismo in its own right and is now considered a significant classic of the brand.

LG Tom
