Model history:

In the third generation of the SL series from Mercedes-Benz, which was launched in 1971 as the successor to the "Pagoda", the customer benefited from a previously unfamiliar variety of models. The spectrum ranged from the 280 SL with an in-line six-cylinder engine to the 560 SL with a V8 engine. In the course of time, there were a total of eight different engines. The length of time that this SL generation lasted was unusually long. With 18 years of uninterrupted production, the internally designated R 107 model was the longest-produced passenger car of the Mercedes-Benz brand. By 1989, just over 237,000 roadsters of the 107 series had been sold.

In this auction, a Mercedes-Benz 380 SL of the 107 series is now being offered for auction. This is a roadster that was first registered in 1983 and is imported from the USA and has the VIN WDBBA45A6DB024164. According to the seller, only 3 owners have owned this already restored R 107 over the years - the matching numbers are assumed. Although there is no longer a service booklet for the 380 SL, the mileage is verifiable according to the current owner. This roadster is already allowed to carry an H license plate, the TÜV ran until May 2023.

Exterior paint/paint/body:

According to the seller, "silver-blue metallic" is the name of the light blue paint color of the Mercedes-Benz Roadster. He also states that 3 years ago a complete painting (inside and outside) took place and the condition of the paint is accordingly very impressive. An accident-free is confirmed by the current owner, and he also mentions that all add-on parts are in complete condition on the car and that the folding top is in proper condition. Minerva tyres are mounted on original "Baroque" alloy wheels. The current owner attributes the tires a condition of 70-90%, the brakes a condition of 70-90% of their new condition. Defects in the area of the chassis are not known to the seller.

Interior:

Grey leather can be found in the interior of this Mercedes-Benz 380 SL - the top of the dashboard as well as the four-spoke steering wheel stand out a bit in comparison due to their black colour. Wooden trim elements in the dashboard and in the center console provide refreshing accents. Rough signs of wear or even missing parts obviously cannot be enumerated inside this roadster. The following elements are included on board the vehicle: power steering, central locking, power windows, air conditioning, ABS, cruise control and a contemporary radio. Mileage:

109,650 miles - the equivalent of about 176,460 kilometers - can be read from the speedometer of this R 107. The seller mentions that this mileage is approximately traceable and that all instruments and displays are carefree in their service.

Engine:

A 4-speed automatic transmission directs the 163 hp generated by the 3.8-liter V8 engine to the rear wheels. The Mercedes-Benz underwent a final service in May 2023.
