Model History

The so-called G-series of the Porsche 911 was introduced in mid-1973 for the 1974 model year and represents the second generation of the classic 911. Characteristic of this series are the redesigned bumpers with bellows, which were introduced due to new U.S. safety regulations and were intended to absorb minor impacts without causing body damage. With its air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine technology and the typical 911 silhouette, the G model remained true to the original concept and was produced until 1989. With a production run of around 16 years, it is one of the longest-lasting and most popular classic 911 generations today.

LG Tom
