For an incredible 57 years, the so-called "New Yorker" model was in the model portfolio of the US car manufacturer Chrysler – making the model designation one of the longest-lasting in US automotive history. A New Yorker always offered the most expensive version, often with two-tone coordinated seat cushions and sumptuous comfort features. For the 1974 model year, the Chrysler models got a self-supporting body, as a drive served V8 engines from 5.9 to 7.2 liters of displacement. As body variants, there was a 2-door hardtop coupe, a 4-door sedan, a 4-door hardtop sedan and a 5-door station wagon. The New Yorker remained Chrysler's flagship until 1996, with contemporary adjustments over the years.

The Chrysler New Yorker offered in this auction is a model from the year of construction 1977. The hardtop sedan with the chassis number CS43N7C119817 comes from 3rd hand and is currently in Austria. According to the seller, the car has matching numbers and Austrian papers as well as an Austrian general inspection until January 2023 are also available. An exact history of this Chrysler New Yorker is not given, but the current owner mentions that the mileage can be partially traced and that recently many repairs have been carried out for the daily use of this sedan.

Stylistic features of this New Yorker are the "waterfall chrome grille", the folding headlights and the rear section equipped with vertical lighting units. Mostly in black, the body of this full-size hardtop sedan is kept, only the hardtop is painted in the color white. Over the years, a partial restoration of the New Yorker has already taken place: Among other things, the paintwork has been renewed. As defects in the exterior, the seller indicates some slight rust spots on the body – but all of which should only be superficial. The current owner can completely rule out an accident.

The tyres have recently been added and the brakes have also been renewed – the winter tyres are from 2022 and the summer tyres from 2019/2022.

Plush fabric seats in beige color can be found in the interior of the Chrysler New Yorker: Many elements in the interior are kept in brown and beige, damage or excessive traces of use can not be found here. For the time, the equipment of this hardtop sedan can be described as rich: sunroof, power steering, central locking, electric windows, air conditioning, cruise control and a radio are on board the Chrysler. According to the seller, all equipment elements in the interior are in service without any problems.

About 99,000 kilometers can be read on the speedometer, in some cases this read mileage can be traced. All displays, instruments and controls in the interior of the car work perfectly.

From 6.6-liter displacement, the V8 engine in this New Yorker gets 190 hp, via a so-called TorqueFlite three-speed automatic, the power of the engine is delivered to the rear wheels. The last service work took place in 2022. According to the seller, the engine was completely overhauled and in addition, many parts such as servo, water, gasoline and oil pumps as well as steering were new. The carburetor and gearbox were cleaned and resealed. In addition, there are some parts that have not yet been installed and whose value amounts to about 2,000 € according to the seller.

Only superficial rust can be removed from the subfloor. This Chrysler New Yorker from the year of construction 1977 already causes a sensation in road traffic for its dimensions alone, the frameless doors and the two-color paint also result in a certain elegance in the appearance of this full-size sedan. A lot of torque, a rich engine sound and above all a cosy interior are on the credit side of a Chrysler New Yorker.
