Vehicle description

Model history:

The history of the 996 GT3 Cup model can be traced back to Porsche's initiative to return to the newly created GT3 class with a powerful and competitive racing sports car. Following its debut in the Porsche Supercup in 1998, the national Carrera Cup races followed suit from 1999 onwards. Until 2004, only about 400 of these top sports cars were built by hand in the motorsport department in Flacht. The GT3 Cup model laid the foundation for the unique success story of this exceptional sports car, which - in various specifications - still achieves top positions in a wide variety of motorsport classes today. No motorsport vehicle of this era was so wide-ranging - the class victory in Le Mans, the countless victories in the most famous endurance races in the world and the many national rally championships remain unforgotten.

General information about the vehicle:

You get the opportunity to buy a Porsche 996 GT3 Cup from the debut year 1999, in which only just under 80 cars were produced. At the beginning of its career, the GT3 Cup with chassis number WP0ZZ99ZXS698095 was used in the Porsche Carrera Cup France by the SCORP team with the experienced Cup driver Luc Rozentvaig . Afterwards #095 (see end of chassis number) met international competitors in the national Belcar GT racing series. The documentation with the previous owners shows motorsport entries until 2010, after that the car entered its well deserved "retirement". Finally the conversion to road legal was done in a German specialist workshop. New TÜV documents are available, the car is currently registered and ready to drive immediately.

There

is a appraisal with replacement value of EUR 110.000,- and overall condition 2 from 2020.

Exterior color/paint/bodywork:

Despite its active motorsport life, #095 still has its original bodywork, which proves that the car was never involved in any serious accidents - a rarity for cars of this genre. Of course, the paint in "Firnweiss", corresponds to that of the original delivery. The current racing livery is based on that used in the 1999 Carrera Cup France - all decals have been elaborately reproduced . For the red color accents on front and trunk lid a individual color with high luminosity was specially mixed. Of course all plastic attachments are original parts of Porsche and no aftersales GFK reproductions. Also the rear wing is the very rare Carbon Turnwald rear wing as it was only used on the GT3 Cup of the early years. In the course of the conversion to a road car the plastic doors were exchanged for serial doors made of sheet metal and the side glazing from Plexiglas to thin glass.

Exterior Rims/Brakes/Chassis:

As part of the street legal conversion, the BBS center lock rims were replaced with custom made Cargraphic custom rims with strength certification. The rim star is painted in BBS gold , rim flange and beds are as good as new and show no damage. Mounted are Pirelli Pilot Sport Cup2 tires, which also harmonize very well in road use. With the brake system it acts at the front axle around a time-typical upgrade on the strengthened brake system of the GT3 MK2 starting from 2001. Also the chassis was adapted to the road operation - up-to-date is an original chassis of the 996 GT3MK2 club sport, which is suitable in the everyday life clearly better than the circuit chassis of the GT3Cup.

Interieur:

The interior shows up all classical, rare and looked for Porsche

GT3

Cup features

.

The steering wheel is the classic Momo suede steering wheel with red "Porsche" engraving. The driver's seat is a original Porsche Recaro with fireproof Nomex, the passenger seat is a seat similar to the Recaro original. The original Matter roll cage in GT3Cup specification is fitted, without modifications and with easy to read identification at the base of the cage.

Mileage:

50.197 km of experience the Porsche was allowed to collect. Although no checkbook is available, the mileage can be traced according to of the owner.

Engine:

The Porsche 996 GT3 Cup is powered by a type identical 3.6-liter Cup racing engine (370 hp), which offers outstanding performance on the racetrack, but especially on the road . Driving data of around four seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and a top speed of 286 km/h appear realistic. A real highlight for connoisseurs and collectors is the gearbox: Unlike most early 996GT3Cup cars of this time #095 was not converted to the series gearbox of the GT3 road car, but still has the rare manual rod gearbox which is similar in design to that of the 993 GT2 race car. Currently installed is an organic GT3 clutch (mileage about 2000km), which provides a good dosed power transmission. Engine and gearbox were extensively overhauled in 2010 (Hamcar, Belgium) - since then the car has only covered about 3,000km for weekend drives . The last intensive tech check in August 2023 also included the replacement of valves, camshafts, engine seals.

underbody

:

The underside of the Porsche also shows itself to be in immaculate and rust-free condition. This can be described as fully rust-free. A further impression is provided by the attached pictures.

Collectors, gentleman drivers, and Porsche connoisseurs have here the chance to acquire a rare as well as equally legendary Porsche Motorsport model with authentic history and high originality, which can be operated reliably on roads and trackdays without any problems. The replaced original Cup Motorsport parts (rims, doors, chassis, large rear wing) can be purchased for an additional charge.
