Technik: (Zitat aus den Regensburger Nachrichten) Der Porsche 911 S Signature Edition. 200 mal gebaut: 100 Coupés, 100 Targas - leichtfüßig, pur und mit herrlichem Extra-Look. Ein limitiertes Sondermodell zu Ehren Ferdinand Porsches, das im Modelljahr 1976 ausgeliefert wurde – leider nur für Kunden in den USA und Kanada – ein Jahr nach dem hier bekannteren „25 Jahre Fahren in seiner schönsten Form“ 911 Jubiläumsmodell in Silber, welches immerhin 400 Coupés und 14 Targas umfasste. 1963 präsentierte Porsche den 911 auf der IAA. Das erste Model (genannt Ur-model/F-Reihe) wurde bis ins Jahr 1973 gebaut und dann durch das G-Model ersetzt. Der Hubraum wuchs derweil auf 2.7 Liter an. Neben der im folgenden Jahr auslaufenden Produktion der 2.7er legte man zu Ehren Ferdinand Porsches 1975/1976 eine kleine Sonderserie auf und nannte sie „Signature Edition“. Kein ABS, kein ESP, keine Servo und nicht mal ein Bremskraftverstärker. Ein letzter leichter Elfer im Quasi-Urformat. Porsche baute davon ab dem Sommer 1975 (also Model 1976, am Bild unserer übrigens mit nachweislichem Planungsauftrag bei Porsche für den Juni 1975) insgesamt 100 Coupés und 100 Targas und lieferte sie an ausgesuchte Händler in den USA und in Kanada aus. Allen gemein war die namensgebenden, ins Lenkrad geprägte Unterschrift Ferdinand Porsches. Ein weiteres Merkmal war der extra hierfür entwickelte Sonderlack „Platin-Diamant-Metallic“. In diesem Ton wurden auch die montierten ATS Hackmesser-Felgen und die Lampenringe lackiert.
