The Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG marked a turning point for the AMG models of the C-Class. Unlike its predecessors, which mainly attracted attention with subsequent performance upgrades and struggled with problems such as understeer and heavy steering, the C 63 AMG was developed from the ground up as an independent vehicle. It received a new front suspension from the CLK 63 AMG Black Series, ESP with fully deactivatable mode (only active under heavy braking) and the most responsive steering of any Mercedes production vehicle to date.
