Description

Model history:

Compared to its predecessor Jaguar E-Type, the XJ-S followed as a Gran Tourer, which had to build on the basis of the sedan XJ due to economic hardship. The new model series was versatile: the coupé was followed by a swing-over cabriolet, a full cabriolet and new engines, which made the big cat fit for a 21-year construction period and allowed it to mature into a car icon. As with its predecessor, there were three series during the construction period of the XJ-S. The Series 1 rolled off the assembly line from 1975 to 1981: At the time, the XJ-S 5.3 GT Pre-HE (Series 1) was the world's fastest production vehicle and the most expensive Jaguar in the model range.

General information about the vehicle:

The Jaguar offered for auction in this auction is an import from the USA, which comes from first registration in 1977 and has the chassis number 2W52725BW. More than 7 owners are said to have already owned this XJ-S V12 coupe according to the seller - an exact history can not be presented, but the mileage should be at least approximately comprehensible. This XJ-S V12 Coupé already has an H license plate, the last TÜV ran until October 2022.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

Visually, this Jaguar presents itself in a beautiful red color - whether a repainting has ever been carried out, the current owner of the V12 coupe can not say exactly. According to him, the car has not been restored and has various scratches and paint damage on the exterior: These defects on the vehicle can be discovered in detail in the meaningful series of pictures. The Jaguar is said not to have suffered an accident after consultation with the seller and all attachments are preserved in complete condition.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

As rims, multi-spoke alloy rims provide the extended visual appearance of this red coupé, the tires attest the seller a condition of 50-70%. In the area of the brake system, it certifies the vehicle's condition assessment of 70-90%. Apparently in original condition, the chassis of the Jaguar can be found.

Interior:

Beige leather seats create a generous feeling of spaciousness in the interior, the dashboard as well as the steering wheel and the center console are kept in black. In the interior, too, the traces of time can be seen in the now 45-year-old V12 Coupé and traces of use can be found. The equipment of this car includes power steering, power windows, ABS and air conditioning. To look at the condition of the interior in detail, we refer to the various meaningful pictures and videos of this vehicle.

Mileage:

After consultation with the seller, this Jaguar is said to have run about 179,412 kilometers - this mileage can be approximately understood, according to him. With regard to electronics, the current owner of the V12 coupe states that the fuses are defective.

Engine

From a displacement of 5.3 litres, this XJ-S coupé with V12 engine achieves not only rich torque but also plenty of power: 287 hp. Power is transmitted via automatic transmission - this transmits the power to the rear wheels. The last service work was completed in 2020.

Subsoil:

Preserved and cavity sealed, the underside of this Jaguar coupe shows, according to the seller, the underbody has not yet been welded and rust can not be found. A rich ancestral gallery, the fine twelve-cylinder, a timeless design – the Jaguar XJ-S had everything that makes an automobile an icon. This Jaguar XJ-S V12 Coupé impresses above all with its extroverted color combination, which stands out especially in the exterior: As soon as you have prepared the car chic, it is definitely an eye-catcher on the roads.
